  Act 2 Scene 7
The Die is Cast - Dangerfield is hiding behind a tree and cocks the shotgun.  Jeb comes and sees the bloody dress and bracelet and as he reaches for them he starts to sneeze.  He talks to himself.  He thinks out loud.  He will get the dogs.   Dangerfield emerges behind the tree and shouts as he shots - not today.  Jeb falls and wonders what has gone wrong.  Dangerfield turns his dead body  and addresses God.
Jeb (coming upon a dimly lite stage) (speaking to himself) Well, well, looky here (picks up the dress) (sniff and caress the blood on the dress) The dogs (sneezes) are going to enjoy finding this bitch (sneezes again) . Damn why am I sneezin. (He looks down as the bracelet falls out).  She was so intent on robbing me to get this bracelet back (sneezes) .  Why would she leave this (picks up bracelet) ?
Dangerfield To catch your ass. (walks out of the woods with rifle aimed at Jeb)
Jeb You know the posse will be after you. You can leave now - you got a head start cause it's gonna take a while for me to get them over here. (starts to reach for his gun)
Dangerfield I wouldn't try that if I was you.
Jeb Alright you got the drop on me (puts his hands up slightly)
Dangerfield It's already too late for you.  You don't remember me do you?
Jeb You're the nigga that jumped me yesterday - (apologetic tone of voice) I didn't mean to shoot Virginia I was aiming at the sheriff. But you got him before I could.  I must say that was a stroke of luck.
Dangerfield Before yesterday - you was the one made me bury my wife and baby.
Jeb You got me mixed up with O'brien.
Dangerfield You ain't talkin your way out of this.
Jeb Nobody gone miss the sheriff but the whole county will be after you if you kill me.
Dangerfield I don't see any of them here .  Just you,  me and God.
Jeb Boy, put down that rifle. (sneezes) You don't got it in you to kill a man in cold blood.
  Dangerfield Your dead Wrong!
Jeb Don't shot - I will do what ever you say.
  Dangerfield Ask God for forgiveness.
Jeb (Lower's his hand as if he is going to pray but reaches for his gun) Lord.
Dangerfield You had your chance! (shoots) (Jeb falls)
Jeb Oh shit, I knew I should have ...(gun falls from his hand)
Dangerfield (carefully comes to the body slowly) (takes Jeb's gun and the bracelet) (falls on his knees) (stage lights dimming slowly) Lord I am sending you a hateful man.  I am sending him to you whether you liked him or not. He killed my wife and baby and wounded Virginia.  I am not damning his soul. You are the judge of judges.  Do what you want with him.  But I ain't sorry for what I did. I got to go now and finish this business. (lights go out)
