We Say We Don't Kill |
| |
by Louise DeBrower 11/10/97 |
| |
Out of fear, without a tear or a jeer, |
| |
We kill self, others, and those we hold dear. |
| |
|
| |
With our dark side in unconscious control, |
| |
We do violence to body and soul. |
| |
|
| |
With Self-pity, self-hate, and denial, |
| |
We kill the best in our personal file. |
| |
|
| |
With startvation and diet taking part, |
| |
Subtle suicide kills body and heart. |
| |
|
| |
In living sad with our things, possessions, |
| |
We kill joy with our money obsession. |
| |
|
| |
In the deception of work as life's goal, |
| |
We will kill by denying our own soul. |
| |
|
| |
In rationalization we're so skilled, |
| |
Opportunity's not lost it is killed. |
| |
|
| |
With our clocks, our lying eyes, and glances, |
| |
We kill time, and our feelings, and chances. |
| |
|
| |
In our treachery that's spoken as lies, |
| |
We kill True Self with cowardly disguise. |
| |
|
| |
With artificial chosen in duty; |
| |
We kill with scorn for truth, honest beauty. |
| |
|
| |
Be keeping closed minds and energy, |
| |
We kill with judgement, yet say we are free. |
| |
|
| |
With our absence of presence as fashion, |
| |
We will kill with our lack of compassion. |
| |
|
| |
In loving less than our best or fully, |
| |
We kill love indifferently, cruelly. |
| |
|
| |
WE DO IT ALL! |
