Steps to put images in pages
  1. Build your template first with a table with 2 row and 2 columns.  Be sure your template file (.DWT) is in its own subfolder .  Its best to name it "template" so you know the purpose of the file.  Close the template file. (Ctlr+W)
  2. On the 1st row 1st column but two number so that you can be sure that you can be sure that you can adjust the space. after you put the image in the 2nd row 2nd column.  Why because this a spacer that will let you test printing by the end user.
  3. Go to file new - you will see two tabs general and template.  Your template file will show  you a preview.  Name the new file and save it.

  5. Some users have a hard time reading the hyperlink you created.  You can change its color.  Select the text with a hyperlinked file and go to the Text menu. Select HTML style then Clear Selection Style .  Then go back to the Text menu and select color and change the color .  You can also change the size by returning to the Text menu and select the size option.
  6. Go to the 2nd row 2nd column and put the label of the picture you want to use.
  7. Click tab to add a new row.

  11.  Launch Fireworks.  Your images should all be in a subfolder called images.
  12. When you put your mouse over the file you want to open - the balloon will tell you the proportions of the file.  If it is over 600 pixels (the horizontal setting is first) then you can reduce it to 600 without any loss of resolution.
  13. Select the file you want to open and eventually add to dreamweaver.
  14.   Select the Modify menu and choose canvas image size.  Note the when you change the value of the horizontal to 600 the vertical is automatically resized as well.
  15. Do not save the file.  Choose the File menu option Export and you can give it the same name or a new name (in case you want to save the original) .
  16. Close down the child and do not save the .PNG file.  Leave Fireworks application open if you want to edit more images.
  17. Return to Dreamweaver.  Put the focus of your mouse on the 3rd row 2nd column.
  18. Go to the Insert Menu and choose the option Insert Image (Ctrl+Alt+I)

  20.  If you want more labels and images. Hit the tab key twice.
  21.  Take off the number you used as a spacer by selecting the space bar.
  22.  Hit F12 to preview your results and test printing feature to see what the end user will do if they want to save this page.
  23. Save your results one last time and Ctrl+W
  24. Transmit your files to your site.  Be sure your virus protection is temporarily turned off for the short period of time you transmit.  Then turn virus protection back on.
