What to do now?

The plethoria of the military in every state gags the two major political parties to take any stand against the conduct of war, even if an honest politician would emerge to try and appose the developement of weapons of mass destruction.
The entrenchment of religious fundamentalism in every election, school, workplace tries to isolate third party bids, push back scientific investigation, and activists.
It is easy to give way to nihilism, cynicism, and apathy.  But the actual conditions propel us to action.
Who best to expose the Afghan drug trade than an ex-addict .  Who best to show the absurdity of trying to insert the religion in the middle of science class than a protegy sought by top institutions.
